Object to a decision

As a citizen or business owner, do you disagree with a decision made by an administrative body? If so, attorney BAS A.S. VAN LEEUWEN (LL.M., Esq.) can file an objection to this decision for you.

If you receive a decision from an administrative body, an objection clause is included at the bottom of the decision. This objection clause states how and with which administrative body you can file a notice of objection to the decision. In the notice of objection you state why the decision of the administrative body is incorrect and request that the decision be revoked or annulled. In addition, in the notice of objection you ask for reimbursement of the costs of the objection procedure.

In the objection procedure, the governing body reconsiders its own decision. Many governing bodies have an objection committee. This objection committee considers the objection and gives an advice to the governing body. The administrative body may deviate from the advice of the appeals committee, giving reasons. Although appeals committees are independent on paper and like to state this independence, the administrative body pays the costs. So the appeals committee is not as independent as it likes to make it appear.

Attorney BAS A.S. VAN LEEUWEN (LL.M., Esq.) provides the expert assistance required in these matters. He advises on a strategic level, also considering whether going to court can be saved and (further) reputational damage avoided.
